DERM

Skin Analytics

CEHCTGA

An AI-as-a-medical-device (AIaMD) system that assesses dermoscopic images of suspicious skin lesions to identify melanoma and other skin cancers within the urgent-suspected-skin-cancer referral pathway. Images are typically captured in primary or community care with a smartphone and a dermoscopic lens attachment and reviewed by DERM in a teledermatology workflow. DERM's distinguishing feature is regulatory rather than purely technical: in the EU it is the first skin-cancer AI cleared to reach a clinical decision autonomously — to discharge a benign lesion without a clinician reviewing the image — whereas in the UK it is deployed either autonomously or with a healthcare-professional second read. Its output is a triage classification, not a definitive histological diagnosis; suspicious lesions are still referred on for specialist assessment and biopsy.

MetaOptima Technology

CETGA

An intelligent dermatology platform that combines a teledermatology and total-body-photography workflow with AI analysis of skin lesions. Its signature AI feature is "Visual Search" — content-based image retrieval that, given a dermoscopic or clinical photograph, returns visually similar catalogued lesions and their diagnoses as a differential aid — alongside a lesion-classification and melanoma-risk model. Images are captured on a smartphone through the paired MoleScope dermatoscope or the OptimaScan device. Two points define the platform honestly: the AI is assistive decision support, never an autonomous diagnosis, and the diagnostic AI itself carries no regulatory clearance in any jurisdiction — the cleared and registered items are the dermatoscope hardware, not the algorithm.
